Hello everybody!
Yes get used to reading English! A lot of people were asking to write in English, so here we go!
As usual I say that I’m going to write a short message… So I hope that this time I’m not lying! ;)
Thank you all for the sweet e-mails and messages on my website. I’m really happy to read your reactions and that I (sort of) can share my stories with you!
Right now I’m in Sierra Vista and now I really am living in a mansion! Or do I say The Mansion because we even have a swimming pool with a cave! Hahahaha isn’t that great! I hope I can place some pictures on the site! I’m living with Sam and Bob Nieuwenhuis (Doesn’t it sound Dutch??!! Actually they are …well at least several generations ago ;) ) And an other funny part is that Sam is a Kiwanian (Just like my dad (lid van de Kiwanis…service club…serving the children of the world)). My roommates are Lesley from Tucson Arizona, Armanda from Texas, Alecs from Romania and Ljuan from Macedonia (yes he is the lucky one…he is staying with 4 girls!!)
In the mean time between writing last time and now we traveled from Tucson Arizona to Globe Arizona and now we are in Sierra Vista Arizona…so it was an Arizonian experience! In Globe I stayed with a cute family! Anne and Blaine and there 2 sons Clint (10 yrs old) and Reese (7 yrs old)! Globe is a city that is not that big, but it was really interesting to be there! Linn from Sweden was my roommate! After the first night Clint came up to me and he said that he had a souvenir for me……and then he showed me a scorpion captured on see true tape…so yes they have a lot of scorpions in Globe. The 3 days we were there they found 2 in there bathroom!! So Linn and I got a really nice souvenir from Arizona! During our arrival and stay in Globe we met some people from the Apache tribe and the Navahos. It was really interesting we learned about there culture and how they live in there area with there own laws etc. We also did a BTS (a short part of our show, to promote the real show) on a high school with a public that did not look really interested and exited, so it was a real challenge for a lot of people to keep on going and smiling, even when there is no response! A not so funny, but good experience. Because we should not expect to have an enthusiastic public every show.
The day after the BTS was our real show and they told us that this audience could also be less enthusiastic, but they were great (maybe they just wanted us to work extra hard for it ;) )
The day after the show we traveled to Sierra Vista (Thursday) and because it’s just a 3 to 4 hour drive we visited Tombstone. A place known for making western movies like Tombstone! A funny little town! We also saw a show which they preformed especially for us with horses and dogs and a donkey its was very funny!
And when we arrived in Sierra Vista the mayor, someone from the police and an economic expert welcomed us and we talked about the illegal aliens (because there are a lot of Mexicans who are trying to get into the USA and Sierra Vista is really close to the boarder with Mexico). It was very interesting, but everybody was so tired of traveling that it was hard to keep focus and stay awake! After that we had host family pickup, so we met Sam and Bob! They are so sweet and caring!
That evening we (Alecs, Amanda, Lesley, Ljuan and me) jumped in the Jacuzzi and we stayed there for right about 2 hours! That was really relaxing! We needed that!
Friday was our community impact day! So I went to the military base and painted a restroom facility that was a lot of fun. Jennie and me were painting the men’s restroom and we started singing our show songs, but just a little bit different than we normally do, so that was really funny!
Than it was already Saturday!!! The Sierra Vista Show Day! I was singed up for setup that day, so building the stage! …well not the stage, but you know the lights, the risers (de podia’s), the drapes (zeg maar afschermgordijnen…ik heb geen flauw idée of deze een speciale naam hebben in t Nederlands) and of course sound! But when we were about to start our cast manager Jörn came up to me, because I singed up for a “coffee conversation” with him. Because he is our cast manager we don’t see him a lot so these moments are moments to chat with him just in general or about problems or just talk about what’s on your mind! And normally you would talk for right about 30 minutes, but we spoke 50 minutes.. just about what his job is during the travels, his background, my background and the cast in general. What’s the most challenging thing for this cast…and what could be a solution if this challenge is not working out the right way etc. It was really interesting!
So I mist a lot of the setup time! Then 30 minutes later Marita (from Germany) came back from her conversation with Jörn so we talked about our conversations and then it was lunch time…so I didn’t really helped setting up the stage… That afternoon we had rehearsal (as usual), dinner and our show. I had a small mc part in the show so that was funny! It went good…not perfect, but still! I think I’ve not mentioned it yet, but when we are ready performing we have 15 minutes to chat with the audience and to change and than we have to strike (take down the stage), do interviews or trainings. So most of the time we will be ready at midnight. As you can imagine those performing days are really tiring!
We were very happy to have a free Sunday! Today we went shopping so I bought a really cute dress and some more make-up because…I forgot my make-up yesterday…so it’s still in the building were we preformed! I hope someone from our cast took it… so I can get it back ;)
And tonight we had a pool party in the swimming pool of Sierra Vista. That was a lot of fun! And I really need to start packing because tomorrow we are leaving for San Diego!!!! WOEHOE! I’m really exited to go there!
And btw they announced the rest of out tour schedule in the US of A! Here it comes!

4-10 sept. Winston
10-13 sept. Eureca, CA
13-16 sept. Coos Bay, Or
16-23 sept. Portland, Or
23-24 sept. Overnight??

And after that we are going to Italy, probably Lecco, but that is not certain yet! I’ll let you know when we know more!

Leuk om je verhalen van afgelopen week te lezen!! Ook leuk dat je er altijd foto's bij zet, dan weten we ook over wie je praat!!
Even een vraagje, wat zijn dat voor gezinnen die jullie in huis nemen. Volgens mij moeten ze standaard vrij wonen en een zwembad in de achtertuin hebben liggen?? Echt super zeg!!

Ik zat weer even op je site. Helemaal tof en top.. Op Google Earth ziet Cocoran er erg vierkant uit. Typisch zo'n Amerikaanse landinrichting. Overigens, het is "vlak bij" Pebble Beach..., de mooiste golfbaan van de westkust. Misschien even een greenfeetje als je een paar uur over hebt?? Succes met je optreden daar en we wachten weer op je volgende verslag. Houdoe. Spap -

Ik wilde je even laten weten dat ik al je berichtjes lees en ze erg leuk vind! :) Ik krijg zelfs helemaal zin in januari, want als alles goed gaat vertrek ik dan zelf met Cast A 2008! :D
Ik kwam aan je site via een vriendin, die hem weer van je moeder had gekregen. We hebben je namelijk gezien bij UwP in Utrecht, en toen bleek dat jij en wij (ik en die vriendin) alle drie uit Veghel en omgeving komen.
Maar goed.. Heel leuk om alles te lezen dus. ;) Nog heeeel veeeeeel plezier!!
